KBCO Online Auction raises $5,300 for EFAA!

T

hank you Scott Arbough, Sara Williams and staff for your support through the live online auction on Thursday, April 16, 2007. Your on-air staff did a wonderful job talking about EFAA and all the services we provide in the community. The items that were auctioned were unique, some priceless and lots of fun. Thanks so much for your ongoing support, you are a great partner and have done so much over the years to provide a brighter future for low income families living in Boulder and Broomfield Counties. KBCO Rocks!

EFAA’s Fiscal Year end is quickly approaching; will you help us meet our fund raising goals?

I

n 2006, the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Professor Muhammad Yunus, the founder of the Grameem Movement, a banking program providing microcredit for the rural poor that began in Bangladesh, India.  His ideas couple capitalism with social responsibility and have changed the face of rural economic and social development*.  In his acceptance speech he stated, “for building stable peace we must find ways to provide opportunities for people to live decent lives.”

Professor Yunus invests in people; he provides them with the tools they need to live a decent life.  By investing in EFAA, you too are investing in people and through EFAA providing them with the tools they need to live a decent life.  Together we are building a brighter future for our neighbors in need right here in our community.

As we approach the end of our fiscal year, we want to thank you for your past support. If you have not made a gift yet, we ask that you do so before June 30th.  If you have made a gift, would you consider send another this spring?    We are striving to reach our goal by the end of our fiscal year June 30th and an additional gift from you in the next few weeks will help assure we have the capacity we need to help people who come to us.

Remember that 83 cents of every dollar we receive is invested in a family that is currently experiencing a hard time and needs some help.  The impact of your gift is remarkable!

Just so you know how important your gift can be I would like to update you on the family we mentioned a few months ago – the husband worked in construction and his hours had been significantly reduced due to the heavy snows this past winter. As a result their family was evicted from their home.  After staying a few weeks in our Boulder Emergency Shelter, the family moved into EFAA’s Transitional Housing Program. Through this program he and his wife are working with Workforce Boulder County to improve their job skills in order to acquire higher paying jobs that are less dependent on the weather.  Through your gifts, this family is utilizing this opportunity to create a better life. Please go to www.efaa.org and help us with a donation today so EFAA can continue this important work in our community.

Thank you for investing in EFAA and joining us in building a brighter future for our neighbors in need.
