
| Art & Heart is a “heart-warming” project that helps support local, non-profit organizations with artwork by A tradition since 1996, each year we ask community art teachers to have students design and construct over-sized Valentine’s Day cards, which are then sold at Boulder Arts & Crafts Cooperative. This year, students at Foothill, Douglass and Sanchez and Additionally, students will construct “house-shaped” wearable pins and magnets, an icon that suggests shelter. Each house•pin will shelter a small heart, a reminder that heart and home are strengthened together. Art teachers make this project meaningful in two ways: the cards and pins provide an opportunity to incorporate art instruction and technique while building an opportunity for students to contribute to our community. This year, Safehouse Progressive Alliance and EFAA, the Emergency Family Assistance Association, both non-profit organizations that serve The Art & Heart Valentine’s Day Card and House Pin Sale begins on February 1 runs through February 14th. We ask the public to take part, also, by giving their support. Cards cost $3 and House pins/magnets are $5. Choose from hundreds of original cards and pins, each a treasure that adds to the meaning of your Valentine. |
