Holiday Giving 2026

The holidays are a great time to reflect on all that we have to be grateful for. It is a time of goodwill, being kind to your neighbors, and of giving back— all of which are core tenets of EFAA’s work year-round. This year many of our neighbors are struggling with the continued high cost of the basics. We invite you and your family to make a difference for local families by giving back to EFAA.

Holiday Food Needs

EFAA’s food bank relies on donations to help make the holidays special for families and individuals facing food insecurity. Support the food bank by shopping for EFAA online, hosting a food drive, or dropping off food donations from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Visit our Food & Goods page for our current needs. You can also shop our Amazon Wish List or Target Wish List to order the most needed holiday items, shipped directly to EFAA! Here are some holiday food suggestions:

If you have any questions, please reach out to foodbank@efaa.org.

Holiday Gifts for Children

This year, EFAA has connected with Share-A-Gift, a 50-year-old Boulder nonprofit that provides gifts to families in need, living within Boulder Valley School District, with children aged 0-14.

Share-A-Gift will host their annual Toy Shop on Saturday, December 19, 2026. People who are interested in toy/gift donations can reach out directly to Share-A-Gift. More information can be found at shareagift.org.

Volunteering

The holiday season is a special time to volunteer with EFAA! Volunteers will help us ensure a happy holiday season during another exceptionally challenging year.

Please note that volunteer shifts fill up quickly during the holiday season. To learn about ways to volunteer with EFAA, including in the food bank, visit our volunteer opportunities page.

If you have any questions, please reach out to volunteer@efaa.org.

Lights of December Parade

The EFAA team will be participating in this year’s Lights of December Parade in downtown Boulder on Saturday, December 12, 2026. You’re invited to enjoy floats created by local businesses, churches, schools, community groups, and other nonprofits. The grand finale includes an appearance by Santa Claus!

More information about the event can be found at Lights of December Parade | Events | Light Up the Holidays | Downtown Boulder, CO.
