Collection and Use of Information
EFAA collects personally identifiable information, like names, postal addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, etc., when voluntarily submitted by our visitors or donors through both online and offline means. Use of personal information will be limited to the internal purposes of EFAA and only to further our mission. EFAA will not sell, rent, trade or share your personal information to any person or entity outside EFAA without express consent of the donor. It is not EFAA’s practice to ever sell, rent, or trade donors’ personal information under any circumstance.
The information you provide is used to maintain records of donations, acknowledge gifts, and to communicate electronically, by mail, and telephone. We normally add you to our direct mail and newsletter mailing lists, unless you request otherwise. We publish donor names in annual reports, which
are posted on our website, to recognize your contributions, unless you request anonymity. We may mention special gifts or events, including the name of the donor or event organizer, in social media, website, printed publications, or electronic communications. Written comments/letters to EFAA may be
shared on our website or social media, in an anonymous fashion, unless you have expressly agreed to being identified.
Distribution of Information
We may share information with governmental agencies or other companies assisting us in fraud prevention or investigation. We may do so when: (1) permitted or required by law; or, (2) trying to protect against or prevent actual or potential fraud or unauthorized transactions; or, (3) investigating fraud which has already taken place. The information is not provided to these companies for marketing purposes.
Commitment to Data Security
Your personally identifiable information is kept secure. Only authorized employees, agents and contractors (who have agreed to keep information secure and confidential) have access to this information. All emails from EFAA enable you to opt out of further mailings if you so choose.
